One Portion of My Walk with God

"O Lord, You have searched me and known me, You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it." Psalm 139: 1-6

This month my husband, Joseph, and I are retiring from pastoral ministry. Surely it has been one of the highest privileges one could have, speaking about God the Creator of all things. Walking through the discovery of the ways of God with fellow pilgrims, each reaching and searching for more of Him, is one of the most fulfilling ways to spend my time on this side of eternity. But the most amazing part of my ministry on His behalf is that He has known every thought, struggle, search, tear, smile, question and moment of awe. My heavenly Father has extended patience, mercy, forgiveness, wisdom and favor repeatedly.

But wait! My ministry to and for God does not cease this month. I will represent Him wherever I go. He is aware of every thought and desire. He will continue to have a hedge before me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. Blessed be Your Name my Father, Shepherd and Shield!
