Throughout my education I had very little interest in history, English and math were my favorites. My outlook on history began to change as I walked in a personal relationship with God. After all, He is all about history. His ultimate gift to us is the entire historical record of His creation of all things, completed by the visitation on earth of His Son and the promise of His return.
One of the exciting aspects of living life as a follower of the Lord is that we accumulate our own spiritual markers in history. As we experience periods of searching, leaning on Him, testing, finding victory or stepping forward at a time of faith, we develop a history. My view of history has drastically changed. There is such incredible value in looking back and meditating on all that the Lord has done for me, in me and through me. My Heavenly Father is authoring a history book - all my own.
