"My son, let them not depart from your eyes-Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet." Proverbs 3: 21 - 24
Yes, these verses seem comforting. Yet, wisdom and discretion, or discernment, are elusive at times. It takes a lot of focus and consistency to discover everyday supernatural wisdom in life. God's wisdom comes easily at times, then there are the periods it seems to elude until much time is spent in the Scriptures and in His presence. Thankfully, months and years of listening for direction and insight accumulate with 'experience on the job'. It actually becomes simpler to discern in matters. And then....along comes a never-experienced situation. Oh my, here we go again, searching for clear discernment. When the questions begin to swirl around in my heart and mind, I remind myself of the 'sweet sleep' I have enjoyed occasionally after conquering a circumstance. I hope tonight is one of those nights of sweet sleep, that can only come from walking with God, His grace and His wisdom.
