Fact or Fiction

One of my treasures is a book, Following The Flag, Charles Carleton Coffin.  The book was written in 1886 in an effort to record factual circumstances and statistics of the great battles fought by Army of the Potomac in the Civil War by this eyewitness.  The feelings of the men, whether sheer exhaustion or strengthened by an inspiring commander, are relived through the pages.  An appendix lists various army divisions with their artillery and infantry supplies.

Factual historical information is valuable to pass on generation to generation.  How much more then should we focus on passing on Biblical facts!  I don't think we should rely on others to teach the truths of God's word to our families.  Other precious teachers and leaders can aid in the process.  But our own family members receive the most accurate view and application of God's ways through the words and actions found within the home. With the mixed messages being offered in society our work certainly makes all the difference.
