This week is one of contemplation for me. Study of the Scriptures combined with current world events and the normal daily living circumstances that fill one’s life sometimes call for deep thinking. I’m attending a Bible study that is focused on the book of Daniel which is filled with critical prophecy. Simultaneously I am reading the book of Job and portions of the New Testament, quite a plate full, I realize.


My mindset lends itself to analyzing ‘big picture’ happenings. There seems to be impending war in the Middle East, while the entire region exhibits turmoil and civil war. No less important or urgent, I’m praying for dear people who are struggling through times of illness. And, of course the usual grandmother’s prayers on behalf of her grandchildren carry their own heartfelt weight. All matters during our time on earth are of substance to God. Our days are few in light of God’s creation and master plan. And He graciously extends tender reminders of His peace, strength and wisdom. After all, He is sovereign!
