November,
the month of thanks, has been a time focused on what I am grateful for over the
past years. I chose thirty things, one for each day of the month, to mention in
Word and Today each year. Here we go for 2016:
Ø Grateful for the bread and cup Luke 22: 19, 20
Ø Talks with my Mother
Ø Freedom to vote
Ø Gentle breezes on my face, refreshing
my heart
Ø Opportunity to spend time with my
husband’s brother, Paul, and his wife, Joann
Ø Memories of my Dad’s self-denying
servanthood toward all who entered his home – offering his chair, food, Kool-Aid
and cookies for my kiddos…
Ø Pumpkin pie
Ø Spending my birthday with all of my
children
Ø Churchill Chronical family newsletter
Joanna’s family issues
Ø Laughing with my sisters and brother
Ø My daughter Joanna’s strength and
perseverance
Ø Mature Christian women, of all ages,
speaking into my spirit
Ø Close friends who pray
Ø Pleasure of having another tea party
with my ten granddaughters, daughters and mother, from ages 2 to 89
Ø My Mother’s resilience
Ø Inspirational, motivational sermons
of my pastor
Ø Our Constitutional republic
Ø Daughter Dawn’s worldview burden
Ø My Dad’s love for our family
Christmases that spans generations
Ø Warmth of our woodstove
Ø My husband’s seventieth birthday
Ø Social media fun with my
grandchildren
Ø Beautiful, glistening lakes that are
in our community
Ø My son Tim’s phone calls
Ø Conservative, constitutional Supreme
Court members
Ø The grace and mercy of my Father God
Ø Acts of kindness by my neighbors
Ø Loyal companionship of Lucy, our
golden/doodle
Ø Treasured conversations with Aunt
Betty, Aunt Gail and Uncle Palmer, hundreds of miles away
Ø Pittsburgh Steeler football games
