These are interesting times for our nation economically, morally and spiritually. Social norms have changed unbelievably over the past few decades. Philosophies in government have slowly slipped, in part, off the foundation upon which our republic was established. Watered-down Christianity is everywhere. At times we all need a "Barnabas" to encourage us when others are speculating about the stand we have taken on a Biblical or constitutional matter.
Acts 11: 22-24, "Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch. When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord."
We must find ourselves "encouraged that with purpose of heart we should continue with the Lord." That is my prayer for you today.
