Create Your Own Personal Growth Plan

For decades instructors, business leaders, and motivational books have been telling us to set goals or write a mission statement to advance our lives and careers. An endless offering of conferences and seminars have been conducted. Goals....objectives.....visions....even New Year's resolutions are given a try. Of course this information is beneficial when follow-through is applied. Floating aimlessly through life without a plan greatly limits our success and effectiveness. The same applies to our spiritual growth, too. Our spirit needs to be nurtured. Our view of the Kingdom of God here on earth will be ill-equipped until we intentionally decide to seek out God's will through prayer and the scriptures. Studying well-written material by theologians broadens our sometimes minimized view of a passage or parable. Mulling over the ways of God throughout a very busy day helps us to be focused while performing tasks. Choosing to surround ourselves with people who search out the character of God, is also an instrumental part of a victorious plan.

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish." Psalm Chapter One
