Forever Surrounded

Another chapter in our lives, 2015 has arrived. This new year is full of promise and opportunities. “Yes,” I say to the Lord God, “here am I Lord, send me.” What would He have me do this year? How can my Savior use me, my life and witness? Much is happening throughout the nation and world. The work of Christian ministries like Samaritan’s Purse with Franklin Graham is accomplishing great things in Viet Nam, Haiti and the Philippines. Thousands of young families and teens began the year at the annual Onething Conference at International House of Prayer, Kansas City, Missouri, declaring their allegiance to serve one thing above all, God.
Then the worrisome issues are before us daily in the news, twitter, social media and talk radio. Lest we forget, the Lord God is intimately involved in each situation. He woos those who are listening. He watches the lost and evil actions of many and knows the end of each situation. For those who believe, He promises to surround us now and forever.
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.”
Psalm 125: 1, 2
Moments come, challenging our steadiness and strength. Whether illness, despair over an unfair occurrence in the life of family members, or witnessing decay of morality in our world, we are surrounded by the presence of a mighty and powerful God.
Almighty God, Our Mighty Fortress and Everlasting Father, we worship and adore You! You are faithful to surround us with Your strength and wisdom. Your promises sustain us. Thank You for the peace that soothes our hearts when unsettling things occur in our lives. Lord, you also surround us with family and friends who call upon Your name. We praise Your name from this time forth and forever.     Amen
