Strength

The aged bridge has been repainted over and over again. The adjacent train bridge has
been unused for many years, sitting still and rusted, somehow looking lonely. No longer does it carry engines or box cars filled with ingot iron.

As I visited my home town I reminisced about the busy, productive railroad of years ago. Barges still travel the river underneath although their number has dwindled. Somehow the railway bridge looked weak and frail. Is it able to fulfill its purpose, supporting rail cars weighing tons?

I find myself wondering. Am I continuing to fulfill my purpose? Is my walk with God revealing strength? Oh, I pray it is. My heart's desire is to be an able, equipped woman of God. Over the years my body has become weaker, but may it never be that my faith be weak. May I continue to be an overcomer. By His might and power may I stand, "Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong." I Corinthians 16: 13
