Room by Room

Creating a home that invites the joyous, weary, grieving or searching soul requires thought and planning. Placing a cup and saucer on the table that calls others to sit and enjoy conversation is part of the invitation. Colorful decor adorning the kitchen pleases the eye and welcomes visits to share words and smiles. The aroma of a baking loaf of banana bread makes the mouth water and simultaneously stirs memories of breaking bread with others. A promise of rest and refreshment leaps from the quilt-covered recliner. Soft soothing music gradually stills the hurried mind.

A home that is centered on the Word of God holds within its walls a surety of heavenly wisdom and strength. "Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled, With all precious and pleasant riches." Proverbs 24: 3, 4 Building a home that exudes safety and acceptance is one product of God's invited presence. Daily love and energy are a necessary part of maintaining a welcoming attitude of forgiveness and grace. Room by room the "Welcome Home" sign is revealed. Hope you are enjoying each room of your home as God instructs and supplies. Pull out the coffee mug and an extra chair.
