Who Are Your Teachers?

Believers of God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit have the best Teacher available. God has unveiled great mysteries for us. In Colossians 1: 26, 27 we read, "...the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." But He places a responsibility on His students, 'us', to become teachers ourselves. Reading on in verses 28 and 29, "Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor striving according to His working which works in me mightily."

Teachers are in abundance on this earth. Their attempts to influence us through television, movies, books, magazines, Internet, schools, and universities flood our eyes, ears and minds. The majority of these instructors are not offering Godly wisdom and guidance. We must urgently seek opportunities to teach those around us through our words and actions about the Redeemer. As we read in the prophecy of Revelation 6: 14-17, a day is coming when all people will be divided into two groups, those who cry out to be hidden in the rocks from the God they rejected and the second group, who will stand secure in Him because they made a choice to live their lifetime recognizing His Lordship. 14-17, "Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

Some may say, "I am not a teacher." But in reality we are teaching all the time without even being aware. Our children, grandchildren, friends, neighbors and acquaintances are being taught by our words and reactions at all times. Oh dear, humbling isn't it. Don't fret God will help with each lesson when we call upon Him.
