Laundry
Steadfast 1. firm; fixed 2. constant Live steadfastly with and for the Lord. This theme is throughout the Scripture. Yet David called out to God more than once for help to be steadfast. I, too, have beseeched the Lord for a more constant strength, endurance, and focus. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit." Psalm 51: 10-12
Circumstances pile up around us like loads of laundry. The mound becomes higher and higher. So many items, be careful, there goes a silk blouse sliding to the floor, socks trailing from all sides. A friend, a valuable silk blouse, is struggling, needing my time. Blue and pink socks, precious small children, are crying out for care. A time-worn dress seems to be fading, a dear old saint, as her health and value are questioned. Where is the detergent and starch? Where do I find the energy? I hear water??? Could it be the Living Water? The drink that satisfies and refreshes?
