Beautiful oranges offer their best effort to provide delicious flavor and vitamins when fully ripened. Color fills this tree replacing the immature green specimens. A promise of delicious nutrition awaits. So much care, watering, feeding and protecting is necessary though. But the final product is worth the patience.
Watching the years required to achieve the expected crop, scrumptious oranges, reminds me of the parenting process. The time and meticulous caring invested to mold and teach each child is motivated by deep love. God has placed on us the responsibility to nourish our families to be mature, contributing members of our society. Fruitful and well-balanced children and young adults are a tall order to fill. There is comfort in the reality that our Creator is fully aware that we are trying our best to plant and cultivate. We can rely on Him for help and wisdom as we search His Word and yield to Him in prayer.
