I am privileged to have and care for, my paternal Grandmother's Bible. Mollie E. Richardson Mann received this Bible on her sixteenth birthday, October 21, 1899. Her beautiful penmanship lists the birth records of her children and some grandchildren. To my joy there is a recommended Bible reading chart for the Thanksgiving/Christmas season that preceded her death on January 31, 1952, nestled in the pages. You will notice a four-leaf clover in one of the photos, pressed by her Bible. I would love to know the story behind that clover. Did she pick and preserve it on a quiet Sunday afternoon? Or could it have been a busy day, and a quick girlish memory entered her thinking as she just couldn't resist stopping to pick the tiny clover?
