My Best Teacher
At some point during a small group Bible study or class we have all been asked, "Who was the best teacher you had in Sunday school as a child?" Another thought-provoking query often is discussed, "Name a person who has taught you about God and His love, by their lifestyle." It is fun to think about the people who have effected our lives. Possibly, observing a special influential person has even helped us make a big decision.
Yet, there is one Teacher above all. "It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God'. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me." John 6: 45. Surety comes in knowing that God wants to teach us and promises to teach us. He will instruct us in all areas of living. "But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another..." I Thessalonians 4: 9. Isaiah 54: 13 reminds us, "All your children shall be taught by the Lord, And great shall be the peace of your children."
Our best "Teacher" consistently and mercifully leads us. He shows the way and lights the path forward. His lessons are more easily learned if we yield to His 'instruction book'. My heart feels strong and safe as I anticipate my tutor, my Lord instructing me. My spirit thirsts for time in His classroom.
